MPI has donated panels to communities in need around the world through Cross-Catholic Outreach. Donating panels, trim and fasteners can literally change lives and communities in incredible ways. MPI invites fellow manufacturers and suppliers to consider joining the effort to provide materials for basic shelter for those who need it most.
Building Strong Roofs and Strong Communities
Central America, Africa & the Caribbean
Last year, our panel donations impacted families and communities even further from the U.S., supporting ministry outreaches in the landlocked African nation of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland).
Challenge Ministries of Swaziland used our panels to put a new roof on a damaged counseling center, where this ministry rehabilitates men struggling with addiction. Also, thanks to the panels and supplies MPI and partners provided, they were able to construct an animal pen, and the center will now be able to add more protein to the children’s meals at a significantly lower cost.
Dominican Republic
In November 2023, a heavy storm left the Dominican community of San Miguel in ruins. Ten individuals lost their lives, hundreds of people were displaced, and nothing was left of their simple homes. Those structures of straw, plastic and low-quality sheet metal simply couldn’t withstand the high wind and torrential rain.
Hundred for One Foundation received some of our metal panels to support rebuilding homes. One home went to a woman named Jesucita, who was struggling to recover from the devastating storm. She now enjoys the safety and security of a concrete-block home with a strong, weather-resistant roof. Because of our donations through Cross Catholic Outreach, they know that when the next storm comes, they can sleep soundly through the night. Their homes will provide the security and protection they prayed God would provide.
